Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Overview:

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is part of the indie quality team, responsible for the qualification, monitoring and continuous improvement of indie suppliers and subcontractors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the supplier development team with qualification activities of new suppliers/subcontractors.

  • Drive supplier/subcontractor compliance to indie quality and product requirements. Create and negotiate quality agreements.

  • Maintain and execute the supplier/subcontractor audit plan/schedule.

  • Drive supplier/subcontractor PPAP submission and approval.

  • Process and track supplier/subcontractor change notifications

  • Support Product Engineering with the evaluation of maverick lot information and other quality related issues at subcontractors.

  • Drive supplier/subcontractor quality data reporting and analysis.

  • Track supplier/subcon non-conformance and indie complaints, drive corrective and preventive action through the 8D methodology.

  • Drive and track supplier/subcon continuous improvement activities.

  • Support the supplier development and management teams with supplier/subcon performance data.

  • Perform continuous improvement activities of the indie supplier development process and procedures.

Main Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry Process or Quality Engineering.

  • Experience in performing quality and process audits.

  • Experience with automotive semiconductor requirements (AEC), PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, IATF16949 and VDA 6.3is a plus.

  • BS/MS in Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

  • The successful candidate must have a strong manufacturing and quality engineering skills, data analysis skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience interfacing and negotiating with suppliers is required.

  • Fact-based, decision making skills with focus on root cause analysis and corrective action.

  • Attention to details.

  • Domestic and international travel will be required.
