(Senior) Product Quality Engineer

Indie Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor company specializing in the design of innovative mixed-signal System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for automotive applications. We develop custom and standard SoC solutions for automotive applications which integrate advanced digital ICs (Arm®Cortex® MCUs and/or DSP) with mixed-signal devices into a single System-in-Package (SiP). The mixed signal can include power management, RF, high voltage as well as high speed convertors allowing us to provide complete solutions to our international customer base.

 

You will be part of the indie Quality team, reporting to the Director of Product Quality. You ensure compliance of project development to indie quality assurance standards. You will be a core member of the project development team, being responsible for any quality related aspect during development, in preparation of mass production, but also for special support after ramp to volume. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of project development activities to indie quality standards.

  • Identify Project Quality Objectives and risks in consultation with the Program Manager, considering indie quality targets, the customers quality requirements, international norms and standards, and legal regulations.

  • Participation in project meetings and especially in gate review meetings.

  • Development of  product specific qualification plans according to AEC-Q100 and specific customer requirements, their execution and surveillance and analysis or test results.

  • Definition and execution of further investigations and measures in case of technical problems out of qualification results.

  • Plan and initiate monitoring activities following indie strategy and/ or triggered by customer specific requests and/ or new failure mechanisms.

  • Surveillance of APQP and PPAP activities, compilation of PPAP report.

  • Initiate failure analysis (FA) activities in house and with external labs; being the gate for all external FA requests – define FA technique, discuss results with lab and internal requestor.

  • Participation in change review board (CRB). Prepare and conduct change management activities pre-PPAP, documentation of assessment results, action follow up.

  • Create and maintain quality documentation to the above mentioned responsibilities in product quality assurance (indie Q standards, reliability procedures, FA flow etc.).

  • Train and Facilitate Risk Management (FMEA) and improvement activities (Lessons learned, 8D...).

  • Lead and be mentor for  a team of PQEs, plan resources and dispose the team activities.

  • BS/MS in natural science, Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry (e.g. design, test, FA, reliability, quality).

  • (Senior) practical experience in QA  aspects specifically in automotive semiconductor market.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience in manufacturing and quality engineering and data analysis as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Reliable, accurate and customer-oriented mindset.

  • Deep knowledge about international Quality standards like IATF16949, AEC-Q100.

  • Knowledge about:

    • IC  design and test methodology

    • tools and methodology of statistical data analysis

    • semiconductor  specific techniques in reliability testing, FA

  • Practical experience with automotive semiconductor requirements like  FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP,  VDA series (6.3 etc.) is a plus.
