The design team at indie Semiconductor develops custom automotive centric ICs using ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers and integrate Analog and mixed signal, RF and Power Management IPs bringing a complete solution to our international customer base. The engineer in this position will join a small team of highly competent engineers that are creating brand new designs in the field of Wireless and USB power delivery, sensing systems and connectivity (LIN, CAN, Ethernet) within the car. The successful candidate will join the indie physical design implementation that takes RTL from IC design team and execute the full place and route flow to release timing clean GDS for integration and tape out.
Participate and support the entire Physical Design (PD) flow at block and chip level with technology ranging from 0.35um to 28nm Mixed Signal with power management flow based (UPF/CPF).
Support entire flow from synthesis flow setup to physical and power verification, including DRC and LVS.
Analyze design constraints and implement DFT structures and strategy for test.
Report to chip lead on a project basis and direct management for daily work.

1+ years of experience in physical design
MS degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering
Working knowledge of Cadence place & route tools and Static Timing Analyzers
Good understanding of timing requirements, clock tree generation and DFT insertion techniques.
Physical verification (DRC/LVS) is a plus
Support Post layout simulations and Timing Analysis
Power / IR drop analysis - advantage
Great communication skills
