The design team at indie Semiconductor develops custom automotive centric ICs using ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers and integrate Analog and mixed signal, RF and Power Management IPs bringing a complete solution to our international customer base. The engineer in this position will join a small team of highly competent engineers that are creating brand new designs in the field of Wireless and USB power delivery, sensing systems and connectivity (LIN, CAN, Ethernet) within the car. The successful candidate will architect, design, implement and support firmware modules and sample applications to the lead customers. You will also support the IC design group development methodology and application engineering functions.

Responsible for design and development of custom Firmware package to support indie new products tape out.
Support critical customer requirements by providing turn key SW packages, particularly for our automotive USB based product line.
Develop system (application) level concept that the customer can build upon.
Support on production milestones, demos and performance evaluation.
Provide expertise to ensure optimal HW/SW partitioning.
Perform tasks including on site debug, bring-up, demo and production firmware development
Report to chip lead on a project basis and senior management for daily work allocation.

MS degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
5+ years of experience in developing embedded firmware running on SOCs.
Experience with ARM Cortex M series and various development tools such as IAR, J-Link, GCC and ARM Keil.
Demonstrated experience in new product development.
Working knowledge of communication protocols in particular USB is definitively a plus.
Understanding/Exposure to Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11 protocol standards.
Demonstrated experience with debug of active product issues and root cause analysis providing solutions and workarounds for customers.
Experienced with RTOS developments.
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, others).
Capable to lead Customer interface and support.
Multi-tasking across several projects in a small and highly competent team.
