indie is an Autotech solutions innovator. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.
We are seeking a talented EM system design engineer to join our indie radar systems team. Focus of the position is mmWave system-board-package co design and simulation for radar MMICs as well as investigating the RF-performance of interfaces between mmWave ICs and radar systems. This involves the development and optimization of mmWave waveguides, transitions, radiating elements as well as novel interface approaches in/on the IC package. Staff engineers are expected to work across geographies with a high level of autonomy, identifying and requesting resources to finish their projects. As part of a cross-functional development team, the candidate will interact with other essential disciplines, including IC, IC packaging, systems, test and requirements teams. You will participate in the development and evaluation of radar systems for advanced future radar applications for our customers.

Design, simulation and characterization of mmWave package to radar frontend transitions
Analysis of system level requirements and investigation of novel solutions for challenging technical and product requirements.
Perform EM simulations on mmWave package and system designs.
Waveguide, antenna and MIMO array development for automotive applications.
Draft technical specifications, design guidelines and related documents for new solutions.

University degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or comparable qualification.
Significant experience in RF/mmWave simulation tools like CST or HFSS.
Familiarity with chip scale packages & RF IC layout techniques, APD and Allegro Cadence tools is a plus.
Good understanding of EM wave propagation behavior, RF and EM theory, and basic understanding of RF circuit design.
Knowledge of Python and/or Matlab.
Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, JIRA) is a plus.
Business-fluent English is required, German language skills are a plus.
