Staff Design Validation and Test (DVT) Practical Engineer

indie is an Autotech solutions innovator. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.

We are seeking a talented and motivated design validation and test (DVT) practical engineer to join our indie radar team. This position is responsible for testing and characterizing mmWave radar and IC designs. You will join a team of engineers in charge of developing the next generation automotive radar. You will be involved in the characterization of mmWave circuits and systems in advanced CMOS technologies, bringing an innovative advanced radar solution to the automotive market. As part of a cross-functional development team, you will interact with other essential disciplines, including IC teams, IC packaging team, test teams, and PCB teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help develop a measurement test platform for radar chip.

  • Generate a test plan and procedures

  • Perform initial chip bring-up

  • Validate and charactere IP breakouts over process and temperature and perform debug analysis on the product in the development stage.

  • Develop test automation software and scripts using MATLAB, Python or LabView preferably.

  • Collect, consolidate and analyze test data for review with the design and quality teams.

  • Practical engineer with 3+ years’ experience in RF and/or EM field.

  • Proven Experience in RF/EM validation test or lab experience.

  • Experience with the RF test equipment, such us: VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, etc.

  • Hands on capability to develop and implement test scripts using MATLAB and/or Python programming.

  • Post-silicon radar characterization is a plus.

  • Experience in RF/standard board design is a plus.

  • Designing hardware test fixtures, e.g., a PCB, as a part of the test setup if no off-the-shelf solution is available is a plus.

  • Systematic and very well-organized working style.

  • Excellent communication skills and able to work in a team environment.

  • Must be a self-starter.
