Operations Foundry and Reliability Manager / Director

indie is an Autotech solutions innovator. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.

The Operations Engineering team at indie Semiconductor develops custom automotive centric ICs using Arm® Cortex-M based microcontrollers and integrate Analog and mixed signal, RF, mmWave and Power Management IPs bringing a complete solution to our international customer base. In this position, the Foundry and Reliability Technology Engineer is responsible for managing and executing all activities associated with Fab technologies, PDK, Fab process reliability and Fab WAT/PCM data analysis of standard suppliers. The technology responsibilities will include building device models, based on device characterization data gathered with the foundries.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical interface to fab- / technology suppliers

  • Collaborate with foundry on process variability and reliability reviews, device performance, quality and reliability assessment, yield improvements.

  • Support foundry PCN impact change assessment

  • Interface closely with foundry

  • Review Fab excursions and maverick lots and provide guidance to Quality

  • Review WAT/PCM data and ensure the Foundries are maintaining a stable fab process

  • Employ appropriate Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles to reduce variability in product performance

  • Define Product Corner/Skew wafer lots

  • Compile and analyze data using common statistical techniques (time-series analysis, CpK, DOE, SPC, ANOVA) and effectively present key results along with recommended actions

  • Review foundry quality and reliability reports and provide direction to the Design and Product Engineering teams as well as Quality

  • Engage in group problem-solving and process improvement projects (familiarity with Six Sigma or comparable methods is desirable)

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technology development / characterization

  • Deep technology understanding

  • Understanding of reliability acceleration factors and mission profiles

  • Demonstrated knowledge of I/O module design including ESD circuitries, particularly Cadence based.

  • Must have strong attention to detail, be self-motivated and able to achieve results with minimal supervision

  • Excellent communication skills
