indie is an Autotech solutions innovator. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.
indie’s vision business unit is responsible for creating power-efficient System-on-Chip (SoC) ASIC devices targeting interior and exterior sensing systems for the automotive market.
This position entails working with various external vendors evaluating their vision related IP offerings such as ISP, Display, NPUs etc., participating in building the internal framework for Camera/ISP image quality analysis targeting human vision as well as front sensing applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of camera design, sensor bring up, camera calibration, ISP pipeline, ISP tuning, image quality analysis, computer vision as well as good programming/scripting skills preferably in Python, C/C++.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in specification, selection, and evaluation of various camera sensor/ISP offerings by the external vendors.
Define image quality metrics, complete system metrics optimizing for and meeting Automotive image quality industry standards.
Participate in camera calibration, ISP pipeline tuning process both in lab, outdoor, low light, night time environments.
● Communicate and collaborate with both external vendors as well as internal cross-functional
teams to deliver high image quality KPIs as required by various computer vision/perception
stacks.
● Define test methodology and implementation for evaluating/analyzing various image quality KPI’s
like MTF, color accuracy targeting to meet full stack image quality KPI requirements including,
camera sensor, lens, ISP, perception stack for supporting and building world class vision chip
targeting ADAS applications like DMS, OMS etc.
● Develop the AL/Machine Learning (ML) based cutting-edge technologies to automate the camera
pipeline product tuning process.
● Camera sensor eval/prototype HW board bring-up and debugging.

In-depth understanding of the camera processing pipeline and detailed knowledge of core ISP blocks like denoising, demosaicing, distortion correction, color correction, image scaling, color space conversions etc.
Image quality evaluation and data analysis using Python, Matlab, or equivalent software.
Developing camera SW/HW for machine vision applications and basic understanding of perception pipelines.
C/C++ programming
Working knowledge of image analysis SW like imatest, Image engineering
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Nice to have:
Participate in technical discussions related to camera module, ISP, vision chip design with external vendors/ Tier-1s.
Understanding of camera manufacturing processes
Understanding of FPGA systems.
