Director/Senior Director, Sourcing & Procurement

indie is an Autotech solutions innovator. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.
Reporting to the COO, the Director/Senior Director, Sourcing & Procurement is responsible for strategic sourcing for all direct material, manufacturing services, indirect spending and the management of procurement systems and processes. The preferred location is in Orange County, California, but other locations are possible.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with all suppliers to the company
Negotiate and manage agreements for production supply, inventory management, and cost improvement of semiconductor foundry, assembly, and test services
Work internally across business, engineering, and operational teams to drive supply and inventory strategies and execution
Achieve consistent cost improvements across all sourcing areas
Engage deeply to resolve problems to ensure supply security to our customers
Facilitate sourcing strategy and cost improvement of indirect purchases, including software tools, intellectual property, design blocks, lab equipment and other items
Implement and maintain procurement processes, systems, and controls, including in ERP system
Partner with Design Engineering, Product Engineering & Supply Chain Management to coordinate new Product Introductions

BS/MS in Business or Supply Chain Management or Engineering discipline, MBA preferred
Procurement certification is preferred, such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP
10+ years of strategic sourcing and supplier relations experience in the semiconductor industry and 5+ years in a leadership role
Existing working relationships and history across semiconductor foundries and assembly/test subcontractors in Asia, North America, and Europe
Proven ability to build supplier relationships both formally and informally up to senior management levels
Experience with new product development, including anticipating new requirements and planning for their impact on the supply chain
Strong problem solving and teamwork leadership skills
Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of contract development, and law
Experience using MRP, automated procurement systems and B2B capabilities
Experience building and maintaining solid procurement systems and controls as part of a robust quality management and SOX compliant system
Cost accounting understanding/experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software
