Applications Engineer

indie is an Autotech solutions innovator. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.

We are seeking an application engineers to assist customers, debug issues, and write technical documentation in support of our wireless chagrining engineering team. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of basic EE concepts and can apply them in a lab setting. The responsibilities include board design (50%), lab validation (30%), and supporting customers (20%).

As an applications engineer, you will work collaboratively with marketing, applications, and design engineering teams to identify and develop opportunities that can lead to design wins. In addition, you will assist marketing with identifying customer needs which will create paths to new product concepts, roadmaps, and associated strategies. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining indie’s technical credibility with the customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive schematics and layouts for internal boards

  • Schematic and layout reviews of customer boards

  • Respond and support customer questions

  • Debug of customer issues

  • Write documentation such as: application notes, user manuals, eval kit datasheets. Support and review IC datasheet progress

  • Participate in new silicon testing from an application perspective

  • Write application notes that explain different use cases, implementations, and/or useful information that might be of interest to customers

  • Prototyping in circuit simulator and in lab

  • Supporting mini burn-in activities

  • Support marketing to create reference schematics for customers

  • Support marketing for BOM cost analysis

  • BS degree in Electrical, Computer and/or related Engineering. Junior or mid-level experience will also be considered.

  • Have a solid foundation on basic circuits and demonstrated good understanding on basic analog circuits on areas like transistors, Op Amp, ADC, DAC, oscillator, DC-DC converter and clock

  • Proficient at using various bench test bench equipment such as DMM, power supply, oscilloscope

  • Familiar with Lab Equipment automation through Python

  • Enjoy debugging as well as finding more efficient ways to test indie’s ICs

  • Hands on capability to develop and implement test scripts using Python programming.
