Any indie location

Job Overview:

Do you enjoy working in a creative fast-growing entrepreneurial environment? With indie you´ll never walk alone! We place high value on our teams and pursue excellence for our employees and customers!

indie is an Autotech solutions innovator. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience and electrification applications.

The design team at indie Semiconductor develops various application specific customer centric designs using Arm® Cortex®-M based microcontrollers and integrate analog, RF, power management bringing a complete solution to our diverse customer’s base across health, automotive, industrial and IoT business opportunities. In this position, the Analog Layout Engineer is a technical staff member responsible for managing and executing all activities associated with analog layout. Given the wide spectrum of applications, the layout engineer must be comfortable with various techniques applied to RF, power and sensing circuits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • At the cell development level, work closely with analog front-end designers to implement layout circuits that meet performance and cost targets.

  • Follow and take leading role in using best layout practices. This includes understanding device matching, interconnect coupling, substrate coupling, catchup, carrier injection mechanisms, ESD, high voltage, edge effects, proximity effects, heat conduction, electron migration, high voltage effects.

  • Ensure the cells and circuits are DRC and LVS correct.

  • Propose good tradeoffs regarding layout area, performance, reliability, yield.

  • In case of chip level responsibilities, manage activities such as floorplan, power mesh implementation, signal shielding and associated checks (LVS, DRC, ERC, ANT, FLOAT, etc.).

  • Make all checks and necessary documentation, waivers for chip tape out / pattern generation.

  • Train junior analog Front-End designers to improve schematic driven layout techniques.

  • Provide feasibility studies for early design assessments, such as early device placements, at chip level chip floorplan and block arrangement.

  • Help improve the design quality, flow, processes for first time design success and high yield manufacturability (DFM).

  • Create scripts for design automation.

  • Maintain manufacturing design kits from layout aspect.

Job Requirements

With us, you must love being part of an organization where everyone makes a difference and contributes to the company's success. Creativity, Ownership and Excellence are what we value.

These are the skills and know how an ideal candidate would bring. We understand that nobody is perfect! After all, your new job should challenge you and you should have the possibilities to grow.

  • More than 8 years of Analog Layout experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of transistor-level analog circuit tools and back-end environments with extensive experience with Cadence.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation of analog and mixed-signal IC layout. Particularly a knowledge of high voltage (DMOS) structure in a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of BCD (Bipolar, CMOS, DMOS) silicon process technologies.

  • Understanding of semiconductor packaging technologies is a plus.

  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently to deliver quality designs.

  • Excellent communication skills.
