Ichiro was the primary instigator of indie. Born in Japan, he grew up in Brazil and founded his first successful electronics company there even before completing his bachelor’s degree. He moved to California to study at Caltech, where he met Scott Kee. Their Ph.D research resulted in the formation of his second company, Axiom, and the world’s first CMOS power amp for cellphones.
Ichiro was born in Japan but brought up in Brazil, so English is his third language. He is a keen pilot and flies an experimental and very fast two-seater plane which he helped build.
