EDA/PDK Integration Senior Staff Engineer
Job Overview:
The design team at Indie Semiconductor develops custom automotive centric ICs using ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers and integrate Analog and mixed signal, RF and Power Management IPs bringing a complete solution to our international customer base. The engineer in this position will join a small team of highly competent engineers that are creating brand new designs in the field of wireless and USB power delivery, sensing systems and connectivity within the car. Indie is recruiting a talented PDK engineer to implement high quality and creative solutions within the design environment to ensure productivity and quality of our engineering team new designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing foundry PDK integration, validation, and enhancement, as well as developing solutions to assist with design reuse across a range of foundry providers and nodes. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely IC design Engineers making a positive impact to the design flow. The position reports to the EDA/CAD director and it is expected to have a strong partnership with the CTO office.
Job Responsibilities:

Provide high quality Process Design Kits to the design engineering teams.

Engage with Foundry partners to enhance PDK quality deliverables to improve engineering processes.

Implement companywide methodologies and flows with CTO support.

Manage all aspect of QA checking and verification of foundry PDKs following Automotive grade quality processes (DFMEA).

Augment foundry PDK’s components to improve engineering quality and productivity

Enable, develop, and enhance internal workflows, train design team on new EDA/CAD features.

Support and assist with company quality initiatives
Main Requirements:
-
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with strong EDA background
-
More than 4 Years’ experience in PDK integration and development support

Proven knowledge of analog and mixed signal design flow methodologies

Knowledge of physical verification runset development
-
Experience of Cadence CAD tools and environment debug
-
Knowledge of BCD (High Voltage) bulk and SOI process nodes is a plus
-
Knowledge of semiconductor physics to help bridge the PDK models and actual physical components.

Proficient in SKILL code and Linux scripting (Perl / Python / Ruby etc.)

Understanding of data management, revision control & regression testing

Excellent communication skills and ability to create concise accurate documentation
