indie's methodology for designing its chips is quick and efficient because it leverages the blocks we have already created and verified. These blocks are designed specifically for integration and re-use in multiple projects and can be stitched together much more easily than designing from scratch.

IP BLOCK CATEGORIES

indie specializes in microcontrollers customized with a broad range of peripherals, both analog and digital. Most of the chips we design and build contain functions in four broad categories – Sense, Process, Control, Communicate, plus there’s a General Purpose category for simple building block circuits. The categories and the main types of block we have in each are shown below.

When designing a Custom Product or building a Modified Product, indie will draw from these IP functions. Because they are built specifically for re-use, we know we can use them as-is if they already fit the application or easily modify them if necessary for a perfect fit. Anything in these categories has been built and implemented in production designs.
