Analog IC Design –
Staff Engineer (Boston)

Job Overview:

Indie Semiconductor is a fabless semiconductor company specializing in the design of mixed-signal automotive semiconductor solutions. Our multi-disciplinary team develops custom automotive-centric ICs that integrate ARM Cortex-M based microcontrollers together with analog/mixed-signal RF and Power Management IPs, delivering complete solutions in wireless and USB power delivery, sensing systems and connectivity within the car.

We are seeking a talented and motivated analog/mixed-signal IC Design Engineer to join and grow our new Boston Design Center. This is an exciting opportunity to develop challenging and innovative ICs in a fast-growing startup environment, where your contribution directly drives the success of the Boston Design Center and Indie Semiconductor as a whole.

Job Responsibilities:

You will take ownership of small to medium-size IP designs from beginning to end, analyze the IP design requirements, perform transistor-level feasibility studies, and quickly generate robust area-efficient circuits that meet their specifications. As part of the design process, you will also build behavioral models of both analog and digital circuits, collaborate with the layout team to ensure good physical implementation of your circuits, and complete analog/mixed-signal simulations that verify your IP as well as the top-level blocks integrating your IP. To promote a strong IP reuse approach, you will thoroughly document your IP design, drive bench/production test plans and assist in a detailed evaluation and debug of your IP.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design within the semiconductor industry

  • Proven track record of silicon implementation on a CMOS or BCD process

  • Experience evaluating and debugging silicon using standard lab equipment

  • Solid grasp of analog circuit design fundamentals and theory

  • Knowledge of industry standard design conventions and design for manufacturability (DFM) practices

  • Working proficiency with transistor-level circuit design tools like Cadence Virtuoso

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good attention to detail

  • Prior experience at a startup company or a small team environment is a plus

  • Power Management IC design (LDOs, switch-mode power converters, battery chargers, etc.) experience is a plus
